Actor David Carradine, a born seeker and cult idol who broke through as the willing student called "grasshopper" in the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu" and decades later as leader of an assassin squad in "Kill Bill," has passed away.
Despite what the media has speculated on the reason of his passing, we say goodbye a person who meant so much to so many martial artists and we are saddened by this tragic event. Not only did many people start in the martial arts because of his inspiration, they kept him as a hero for what he represented.
Those who became martial artists in the 60's and 70's whom also followed Bruce Lee understand this.
He was human, imperfect. Like us, he had his weaknesses. But he could not escape his place in martial arts history and has admitted that after so many years running away from it, he should embrace it.
